Notre Dame Preparatory School was named for the eighth consecutive year among The Baltimore Sun Top Workplaces. Each year since the inception of the program, NDP has been included among this esteemed list of Baltimore employers. In particular, the school received special recognition in the area of “meaningfulness,” which is the second time in the last four years that NDP was celebrated for this quality.
“That NDP was honored for meaningfulness is a testimony to our faculty and staff’s passion and commitment to their profession and our students,” says Sister Patricia McCarron, SSND, Ph.D., headmistress. “Our school mission—academic excellence, spiritual growth, and the practice of justice—supports everything we do and brings deep meaning to our vocation to educate young women to transform the world!”
When asked why NDP is a great place to work, Tom Peri, veteran NDP science teacher replied, “I love teaching at NDP because the climate of our school is one of collaboration between the students and teachers. There is absolutely no ‘us’ vs. ‘them’ mentality here.” He added, “In that atmosphere, NDP teachers have an incredible opportunity to be creative and inventive every day and we have confidence the class will be constructive.”
The evaluation for the Top Workplaces program is based upon feedback from an anonymous employee survey that the faculty and staff filled out back in August. NDP placed in the mid-size employer category, and was ranked 4th out of 25.
