Notre Dame Preparatory School students have access to many exceptional facilities. Whether they're conducting on-line research, creating computer graphics, or working out on the stairclimber, students have what they need right at school.

INSTRUCTION SPACE

Notre Dame Prep is a completely wireless Internet campus.  A state-of-the-art Language Center, with 41 computer stations, enhances language instruction. The Henry J. Knott Performing Arts Center provides outstanding performing and practice space with its multi-tiered instrumental and choral room, drama room, dance studio, piano lab, art gallery and practice and instructional rooms. The Irene B. Kirby Education Center is home to the school's mathematics and social studies departments. Multiple computer labs and a computer graphics center enhance students' familiarity with technology. The school has five modern, specialized science labs. A storm-water management pond and marsh area surrounded by native Maryland plantings doubles as an outdoor ecology classroom.

MEETING SPACES

The chapel contains Italian-carved statues and Stations of the Cross, and majestic stained-glass windows.

Noted for its elegant simplicity, the school's chapel accommodates approximately 200 guests and is used for special liturgies, class services and quiet worship. Designed by architect Austin X. Dopman, the chapel contains Italian-carved statues and Stations of the Cross, and majestic stained-glass windows. The school's air-conditioned auditorium seats 1,000 people. Students, faculty and administrators meet in the auditorium at least once a week for assemblies, prayer services and liturgies. In addition, the school play, student and special guest performances, Junior Ring Ceremony and graduation are held here. The Sister Helen Marie Duffy Conference Area, located in the Henry J. Knott Performing Arts Building, can accommodate groups of 10 to 200. The large room can be subdivided into four meeting spaces.

A recent gift from alumna Diane Dippold MacIntosh '58 has allowed NDP to establish The Margot and Diane Dippold Women’s Collection. At present, this special collection contains 500 books completely devoted to women.
