WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS TO NDP? Hide

NDP encourages prospective students to complete an application as early as possible. The deadline for all applications is December 1, 2008. Interviews take place between September 18, 2008 and December 12, 2008.

  1. Girls may spend the day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. "shadowing" a current NDP student in the grade for which they are applying; however, this is not mandatory for Grade 9 applicants.
  2. Admission testing on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. is mandatory for all Grade 9 applicants. Testing fee is $30.00. Snow date will be Saturday, January 10, 2009.
  3. ISEE ( Independent School Entrance Exam) Admission testing on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 7:30 a.m. is mandatory for Grade 6 applicants and new applicants for Grades 7 and 8. Applicants must register by October 18, 2008 to take this test at NDP. Applicants may take the ISEE test at any Maryland testing site. We request that the test be taken no later than mid-January 2009, due to our admission deadline. Snow date for ISEE will be Saturday, December 6, 2008.
Listen to WBAL Radio (1090) in case of inclement weather. Call the Admission Office for testing and registration information. NDP is a closed testing site and parents must register for this test directly with the testing service. The testing fee is $80.00. Please call Educational Records Bureau for further information 1-800-446-0320. It is not required that applicants take the ISEE test at NDP.

WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA BY WHICH GIRLS ARE ACCEPTED TO NDP? Hide

After receiving the completed NDP application and signed transcript release form, we send for the applicant's past three years academic grades, and all standardized test scores on file. In addition, the Admission Committee looks at the applicant's admission test score (HSPT for Gr. 9; ISEE for Gr. 6), school recommendations, the student's writing sample, and an interview with an Admission Counselor.

WHAT ARE THE PROCEDURES FOR AN APPLICANT APPLYING FOR GRADES 7, 8? Hide

All "off-grade" applicants must meet the application deadline of December 1, 2008. All applicants to NDP for Grades 7 and 8 must take the required admission test. Any re-applicant who wishes to take the admission test must call the Admission Department. Applicants may take the ISEE test at any Maryland testing site. We request that you take this test no later than mid-January 2009.

WHAT DOES "WAIT LIST" MEAN AT NDP? Hide

When Notre Dame has more applicants than spaces, students may be placed on a waiting list. The wait list is not ranked, and each candidate will be reviewed individually if a space becomes available.

HOW MANY GIRLS GO ON TO COLLEGE AFTER GRADUATING FROM NDP? Hide

One-hundred-percent of NDP's graduating classes attends four-year colleges and universities.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE CLASS SIZE? Hide

The average class size is 18-20, with a student-to-faculty ratio of 9-to-1.

WHAT IS THE 2008-2009 TUITION AT NDP? Hide

Tuition for the 2008-2009 academic year is $14,890 for all grades, with an additional $750-$1,000 annually to include uniforms, books, and fees (fees vary by grade level). Transportation and lunch are not included. All freshmen must purchase a laptop computer.
