Dear Future Blazer Family,
Welcome! We are thrilled that you are considering Notre Dame Preparatory School for your daughter. NDP educates girls in grades 6-12. From our academics to our co-curricular (in and out of the classroom experiences), NDP inspires its students to pursue passions and new possibilities. The admissions process is designed to be a journey that allows you and your daughter to see all that awaits her at NDP. The Baltimore-area is saturated with wonderful schools…public, private and faith-based. What makes NDP different and stand out? Dare I say, better? It is not one thing, but rather a cornucopia of attributes that provide a unique, transformative experience for our students, and even their families. Sisterhood. Rich traditions. Stimulating academics. Expert faculty. Leadership. Service. Faith. And so much more. Everything combines to provide quite a transformation in our students.
Anchored in the charism of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, NDP is rooted in tradition but contemporary in education. We have a talented team of faculty who truly are experts in their fields. With a balanced blend of PhDs and masters-degreed teachers, our students get the best every day and are encouraged to do their best every day. In the Middle Level (grades 6-8), our nurturing but age-appropriate instruction provides a balanced curriculum for the middle school years. We focus not only on academic preparation but also on spiritual and personal development. An innovation lab, advisory program, performing arts selection compliment the treasured traditions and sisterhood that create a unique and ideal middle school experience. In the Upper Level (grades 9-12), classes are balanced by robust electives and 23 AP classes. The unique phasing system in the high school truly allows each student to work at the pace that is best for her; consider it an individualized education plan to appropriately challenge your daughter and help her grow. Our STEAM and Humanities programs also provided enriched learning to our students who pursue those specialized academic areas. The one-to-one technology program enhances learning and supports the overall curriculum.
NDP students excel beyond the classroom, too. In the Middle Level, clubs and sports team, coupled with the winter musical and service, provide for experiences outside of the classroom. NDP’s Middle Level has a competitive scrabble team! How cool is that? With more than 30 clubs, 15 athletics teams and the longest-running service program in the Baltimore region, our Upper Level students thrive in their co-currciulars. From NDP’s nationally recognized and award-winning club programs, such as Speech and Debate and Youth in Government and Model UN, to the casual, social clubs like Baking Club and the Ukeladies, to the social justice clubs, like PAW and Environmental clubs, plus our championship and competitive sports teams, our students pursue current interests and discover new passions. Lastly, the immersion-based WIN—Women In—internship program provides a valuable opportunity to explore career interests.
NDP has more than 140 years of educating girls. We know how girls think. We nurture girls. We empower girls. We transform girls into leaders who go out and change the world. We hope you can see all that NDP can offer your daughter and your family. We hope your daughter can see herself at NDP.
