Notre Dame Preparatory School was delighted to celebrate its Class of 2020 at today’s Baccalaureate Liturgy of the Word and Outdoor Graduation. Prior to the two events, which were live-streamed on Facebook, the 131 graduates participated in a private Blessing of the Roses Ceremony.
Each student was permitted two guests at the outdoor graduation, which carefully followed social distancing guidelines. Graduates were presented, and key academic awards were announced. In addition to the guests and 131 graduates, NDP leadership and faculty/staff volunteers were present.
Following the ceremony, the graduates processed through NDP’s iconic Gateway, which they first walked through as freshmen four years ago.
Nearly 89% of the Class of 2020 earned more than $28 million through 510+ merit scholarship and grants. One-hundred percent of the Class of 2020 was accepted into four-year colleges and universities. Included in the class were eight National Merit Commended Scholars and two National Hispanic Recognition Programs. Two students will be serving in military academies, one at West Point, the other at the Merchant Marine Academy.
Notre Dame Preparatory School graduates have carried red roses and worn identical white dresses for more than 70 years.
