The Class of 2021—181 members strong—graduated yesterday at Notre Dame Preparatory School! Threatening storms could not dampen the spirit of this wonderfully resilient class and their families as we celebrated their accomplishments.
The day began with the private Roses Ceremony, in which Sister Patricia McCarron, SSND, Ph.D., headmistress, and the school’s Leadership Team blessed the class and the dozen red roses each student carries. Following was the commencement ceremony held in the school’s Auditorium.
Following graduation, the students proceeding through the school’s iconic Gateway, which they walked through as new students, symbolizing their journey into the world.
Seniors Joanna Jeyachandran received the General Excellence Award and Anna Seal received the White Blazer Award. Included in the class were three young women who joined senior year from the Institute of Notre Dame.

One National Merit Scholar
Six National Merit Commended Scholars
13 scholar-athletes signed letters of intent to play at Division I schools; nine students will play for DII and DIII schools
36 Bette Ellis O’Conor Humanities Scholars; 45 STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Mathematics) Certificate Scholars; 81 Biliteracy Certificate Recipients (in Chinese, Spanish, and French)
