Steps in the NDP Application Process



Complete the Shadow Day Request Form 

  1. A representative from the NDP admissions office will call to confirm your Shadow Day based on your preferences on the Shadow Day Request Form.
  2. Shadow Days are available from late-September to early December.
  3. Shadow Days last from 7:45 am to 2:30 pm. Your daughter will shadow a current NDP student in the grade for which they will be applying.
  4. Your daughter will have a brief interview with an admissions staff member on her Shadow Day.
Complete an application by December 20th **
  1. Make an online application between Oct. 2 – Nov. 18, 2019, and pay an application fee of just $50.
  2.  
    Make an online application between Nov. 19-Dec. 19, and pay an application fee of $75
  3.  
    Final application deadline is Friday, Dec. 20, with an application fee of $100.

Take and submit your application testing
  1. All applicants for 9th grade must take the HSPT (high school placement test). The HSPT is being offered at NDP on Saturday, December 7th, 2019 from 8:30am-noon. Register here. (Snow date: Saturday, December 14th, 8:30am-noon). If another testing location is more convenient for your family, your daughter is welcome to take the test at a different location. If your current school is offering the HSPT to your daughter, you do not have to take it at NDP.
  2. All applicants for 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, or 11th grades must take the ISEE. Here is the ISEE registration link: LINK
Have your daughter’s transcript sent to NDP
  1. If your daughter currently attends a public or independent school, please complete the Transcript Release Form no earlier than October 20, 2019, and no later than November 15, 2019. Please submit the completed form to her current school and they will send her transcript to us directly.
NOTE:
  • All Middle Level applicants--public, independent, and Catholic school students--need to complete and submit a Transcript Release Form to current school.
  • Only public and independent school applicants for 9th grade need to complete and submit a Transcript Release Form.
  • Any off0grade applicant will complete and submit a Transcript Release Form. Please note that off-grade admission is only available as space permits.
