Middle Level Laptop Program for the 2025–2026 School Year

All students in the Middle Level are required to have a laptop each day for classes. All software required for school, including Microsoft Office, will be provided. Families may choose to either purchase a laptop from the NDP/Dell Laptop Program or bring their own laptop. Learn more about these options below. If you have any questions about this program, please contact Dr. Julie Dian, Coordinator of Educational Technology.

  1. Purchase a Laptop from the NDP/Dell Laptop Program

    • Purchase Information: The purchase window for the NDP/Dell Laptop Program for the 2025–2026 school year is from March 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., to April 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Information regarding ordering procedures will be sent directly to families from Dr. Julie Dian, Coordinator of Educational Technology, during early March. Families who order after the deadline will not be guaranteed the pricing or stock. Any changes Dell makes to the pricing or stock will be communicated to families immediately. Laptops will be delivered to your home address.

NDP does not profit from this program. When an NDP student takes reasonable care of her laptop, it will last through high school. The NDP Help Desk invests time in selecting a laptop that will meet the educational needs of NDP students, is compatible with the software used in the classroom, and provides the best experience.

    • Warranty Information: The NDP/Dell Laptop Program includes a four-year warranty (batteries are only under warranty for one year). Hardware repairs are done in-house by certified Dell technicians. The following repairs are covered:
  • Unlimited repairs for defective/bad parts (including chargers).
  • One repair per year for physical damage (year runs from mid-May to mid-May).
Warranty coverage is valid until May 15, 2029. The NDP Help Desk handles all aspects of the warranty and repair process. Loaner laptops are available at no cost. Intentional damage or damage due to theft or loss will not be covered under this warranty; theft or loss would fall under your homeowner’s insurance policy.

  1. Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL)

    • Hardware Requirements:
      • No tablets, no Chromebooks, and no Macs allowed.
      • Laptops must have an attached keyboard.
      • 11-inch screen or larger.
      • Detailed specifications will be communicated to parents during the last week of April.

    • Software Requirements:
      • Windows 11 Home/Pro (S mode not supported)
      • Windows Security enabled (also known as Windows Defender)

The NDP Help Desk cannot perform hardware repairs or operating system reinstallation on BYOL devices. We strongly recommend purchasing a hardware warranty which includes accidental damage coverage for the full four years at NDP. The Help Desk will provide best-effort support only for Wi-Fi connection and software/functionality required for school. Loaner laptops are available at a cost of $10 per day with a maximum loaner period of two weeks.

Additional Information:

  • Technology Fee: The technology fee covers expenses associated with the use and maintenance of NDP’s technology infrastructure. The Middle Level Technology Fee for the 2025–2026 school year is $200 per student.

  • Laptop Camp: Notre Dame Prep hosts a required Laptop Camp to ensure all Middle Level students are fully prepared to use their school laptops effectively. The camp includes an in-person session with optional virtual components to provide students with practice. More information about this Laptop Camp can be found on the Newly Accepted Middle Level Families page.
