Notre Dame Prep is proud to announce that four members of the Class of 2026 have been recognized for their exceptional academic success in the
2026 National Merit® Scholarship Program.
Olivia V. '26 has been named a
National Merit Semifinalist, and Krysta B. '26, Jennifer P. '26, and Claire S. '26 have been named
National Merit Commended Scholars. These students earned this recognition based on their performance on the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which they took as juniors. Read more about these recognitions below.
National Merit Semifinalist
Olivia V. '26 earned the distinguished title of Semifinalist, placing her among the top academic performers in the state and the nation. Officials from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced that over 16,000 Semifinalists were selected from a pool of more than 1.3 million students. This elite group represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. As a Semifinalist, Olivia now has the opportunity to continue in the competition for nearly $26 million in National Merit Scholarships that will be offered next spring.
National Merit Commended Scholars
Krysta B. '26, Jennifer P. '26, and Claire S. '26 received Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement. Although they do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, Commended Scholars are among the top 50,000 highest-scoring students from across the country. This significant achievement highlights their dedication, hard work, and potential for future success in college and beyond.
Please join us in congratulating these four remarkable scholars! Their achievements reflect years of academic excellence and inspire us all at Notre Dame Prep.
