NDP Hosts Inspiring Breast Cancer Awareness Assembly
On Wednesday, October 8, students, faculty, and staff gathered for a powerful Breast Cancer Awareness Month Assembly, hearing deeply personal stories of resilience and prevention from two distinguished speakers.
The event featured special guest speaker Emily Ries, a Baltimore native and Vice President of Marketing for Hungry Dog Marketing who works with major NFL names like the Kelce family. Ms. Ries shared her courageous journey with genetic testing and her proactive decision to undergo preventative surgery, inspiring students with her message of advocacy and empowerment.
Students also heard from a cherished member of Notre Dame Prep's own faculty, Mrs. Kathy Wilder, Director of Learning Resource Services. Mrs. Wilder shared her personal testimony of navigating her own journey with breast cancer, offering a poignant and firsthand perspective on strength and perseverance.
We are profoundly grateful to both women for sharing their powerful stories. Their courage and candor served to educate, inspire, and empower our school community with invaluable lessons in health, awareness, and resilience.
