John and Marlene Schiech, P'06: 2026 Hampton Award Recipients

John and Marlene Schiech's connection to Notre Dame Prep is rooted in family, friendship, generosity, and many years of service.

John and Marlene first came to know NDP as parents, when their daughter Kristen, Class of 2006, was a student. Over the years, that connection has grown into a lasting commitment to the school and its future.

John brought a wealth of leadership and business experience to NDP. He spent 30 years with Black & Decker, ultimately serving as Group Vice President and President of the company’s Industrial Products Group.

He has shared that experience generously with our school, serving on the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee and, today, as a Trustee Associate on our Board Advancement Committee.

During the Common Ground Campaign, John served on the Campaign Executive Committee, helping us strategize, engage donors, and raise the resources needed to bring the campaign’s vision to life. John and Marlene have also been exceptionally generous supporters of NDP, including their significant commitment to Common Ground.

Marlene, a nurse by training, has cared for the NDP community in countless ways—from volunteering with our school nurse, to serving as a substitute teacher, to helping make our Gala a success for many years.

And the Schiech family’s connection to NDP continues to grow, with their son Steve married to Chrissy Alecci Schiech, Class of 2005.
