NDP Speech and Debate Earns Several Medals at BCFL #2 Tournament
Notre Dame Prep's Speech and Debate team delivered an outstanding performance at their BCFL #2 tournament on Saturday, October 25, at Loyola Blakefield. Nine students competed across a range of challenging speech and debate events, showcasing their impressive skills in research, argumentation, and public speaking. The team's hard work resulted in several top awards:
Ella N. '28 won a gold medal in Junior Varsity Lincoln-Douglas Debate. She argued flawlessly, winning all three of her debates and earning very high speaker points.
BiancaRose N. '26 won a silver medal in Oral Interpretation of Literature. She received high ranks from the judges for both her prose and poetry performances.
Hailey L. '27 had an exceptional day, competing in three different events. Her versatility earned her a gold medal in Oral Interpretation of Literature, a silver medal in Dramatic Performance, and a gold triathlete medal.
The tournament was also a valuable "first" for several new members of the team. All participating students received positive, constructive comments from judges and gained important experience in their events. The team is now preparing for its next tournament, which will be held at Arundel High School on November 15.
