Three NDP Field Hockey Seniors Earn First Team All-Metro Honors; Emerson Ross '26 Named Player of the Year
Notre Dame Prep Field Hockey capped a stellar 2025 campaign with major accolades this week, as three seniors received First Team All-Metro honors from The Baltimore Sun.
Leading the honorees was defender Emerson Ross (University of Virginia), who was also distinguished as the 2025 Baltimore Sun Field Hockey Player of the Year. This is in addition to her receiving Second Team All-American honors by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) in early December.
As a two-way impact defender, Ross earned Player of the Year honors by not only routinely shutting down opposing teams’ top scoring threats while collecting nine defensive saves along the way, but also utilizing one of the metro area’s hardest shots to contribute 20 goals and 13 assists, including three game-winners. Her recognition as the region's top player underscores a career marked by consistency and playmaking ability that drove the Blazers' high-powered offense.
Joining Ross on the First Team All-Metro are fellow seniors Kendal Leeland (UMass Lowell) and Paige Mogar (Syracuse University), solidifying the Blazers' presence among the region's elite talent. Leeland’s dynamic play and Mogar’s dominant goal scoring (28) were critical components of a squad that outscored opponents by significant margins throughout the season.
The trio was instrumental in guiding Notre Dame Prep through a dominant regular season. Their leadership helped propel the Blazers to the top of the IAAM A Conference standings and a berth in the championship final against Bryn Mawr. All three seniors were also recognized by the NFHCA in November with First Team All-Region honorsfor the Mid-Atlantic (Delaware, District of Columbia, & Maryland).
These selections mark a fitting conclusion to the high school careers of these student-athletes, who have left an indelible mark on NDP's field hockey program.
