Upper Level Assembly Honors Mental Health Awareness Month with Powerful Student Reflections

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Notre Dame Prep’s Upper Level students gathered on Tuesday, May 6, for a moving and meaningful assembly centered around this year’s theme from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): “In every story, there’s strength.” The assembly highlighted the importance of acknowledging and supporting mental health in all its forms, while reminding students that every individual’s journey is marked by courage, resilience, and hope.

A powerful part of the program came from six Upper Level students who bravely shared personal reflections on their experiences with grief, anxiety, and stress. Their honesty and vulnerability created a space for empathy and connection, helping to strengthen the supportive spirit that defines the NDP community. We are deeply grateful to these students for their courage and to all who continue to promote awareness, compassion, and open dialogue around mental health.
