Celebrating the Life of Mike Batza

We invite all to join in praying for the reposed soul of Michael “Mike” Batza, who passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Mike holds a significant place in Notre Dame Preparatory School’s history. He served on the school’s first Board of Trustees and played a vital role, either as a leader or a supporter, in every school campaign since the early 1990s. With a successful career in real estate development, Mike generously shared his leadership and business expertise to help ensure that NDP remained operationally strong, fiscally sound, and forward-thinking. In 2010, he and his wife, Pattie, were honored with the Hampton Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions to our Hampton Lane campus.

Mike’s vision for Notre Dame Prep lives on in two major campus projects that have benefited, and will continue to benefit, generations of students. The Batza Family Field, re-turfed with Bermuda grass this summer, has not only served as a venue for athletic competitions but also as a space that cultivates skill-building, confidence, and the fostering of team spirit. Thanks to the generosity of Mike and his family, The Batza & Simon Academic Services & Enrichment Center offers a welcoming, inclusive environment where students can discover and develop their God-given gifts and potential.

We are truly blessed to have known Mike and are deeply grateful for the unwavering support and kindness he extended to our school. Please join me in prayer for Mike, Pattie, their daughters Michelle Railey ’86, Maureen Morris ’86, and Meggan Batza, their granddaughter Katie Railey '17, and their families.

We give You thanks, Lord, for the gift of Mike Batza’s life,
for his generosity, faith, and unwavering support of our school community.
Through his kindness and vision, he helped sow seeds of hope,
education, and faith that will bear fruit for generations to come.
Grant, O Lord, that his legacy may live on in the hearts of all who walk these halls,
in every lesson taught, in every prayer spoken, in every game played,
and in every life touched by the mission he so deeply believed in.
Welcome Mike into the joy of Your Kingdom,
where every act of love is remembered and rewarded,
and where Your faithful servants rest forever in Your glory.
We pray that our school, strengthened by Mike’s example,
may continue to grow in wisdom, compassion, and truth,
always rooted in Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Amen
