NDP Launches Honor Society, Receives Computer Science AP Award
Notre Dame Preparatory School held its inaugural induction of the Computer Science Honor Society (CSHS). Six seniors and one junior were inducted into the CSHS, which requires students to maintain an advanced grade scoring in one or more computer science courses and meet a corresponding mathematics co-requirement for invitation and acceptance into the society.
Additionally, NDP has earned the College Board's AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award for expanding young women’s access to both AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles--one of only 56 schools to be recognized for achieving this important result in both courses!
The creation of this new chapter of the CSHS, which operates under the guidance of the Computer Science Teachers Association, and the AP Honor are wonderful outgrowths of our school’s vibrant Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Mathematics (STEAM) program. As STEAM continues to become a ubiquitous aspect of all our lives, we are pleased to prepare our students for the challenges of tomorrow.
