A Day of Sustainable Fashion: NDP Students Host Middle Made and CW Project Greenway Fashion Shows

On February 11, NDP students celebrated ingenuity, sustainability, and community legacy with a campus-wide day of sustainable fashion, featuring both the Middle Level’s Middle Made Fashion Show and the Upper Level’s CW Project Greenway Fashion Show.

The runway events challenged students to design and construct wearable garments entirely from recycled and reusable materials. The Middle Level designers showcased impressive creativity, transforming everyday waste—including plastic packaging, old bed sheets, and bottle caps—into runway-ready looks. The Middle Made event also welcomed back alumna Caroline Enoch ’22, who served as a guest judge and shared her passion for fashion with the younger students.

The sustainability theme continued with the Upper Level’s CW Project Greenway Fashion Show. This year's event featured a special community partnership through the Refugee Youth Project, where students from Mount Royal collaborated to create a featured dress that was modeled during the show.

Beyond the stunning designs, CW Project Greenway holds deep significance for the NDP community. The annual show is held in loving memory of Claire Wagonhurst ’15, who passed away from melanoma during her senior year. Project Greenway was Claire’s favorite event, and the school proudly continues it in her namesake to support the Claire Marie Foundation. The foundation, founded by Claire's mother, Marianne Banister, provides clarity and hope in the fight against adolescent and young adult melanoma.

The school was honored to welcome Ms. Banister to this year's event, celebrating the designers, the models, and Claire's enduring legacy.
